Dr. Kathryn Schulte Grahame, Northeastern University
Teaching Professor, Associate Director of First Year Engineering
Dr. Kathryn Schulte Grahame is a Teaching Professor at Northeastern University and the Associate Director of the First-Year Engineering Team at Northeastern University. The focus of this team is on providing a consistent, comprehensive, and constructive educational experience that endorses the student-centered, professional and practice-oriented mission of Northeastern University. She teaches the Cornerstone of Engineering courses to first-year students as well as courses within the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. She is a recipient of the Excellence in Mentoring Award and the Outstanding Teacher of First-Year Students Award. Her research interests include service learning and work that informs and enhances the teaching of first-year students.
Christiane Amstutz, Beachmont Veterans Memorial School
4th Grade Teacher + STEAM Club director
Chris Amstutz is a 4th grade teacher at Beachmont Veterans Memorial School in Revere, MA. She has been a public school teacher for eight years, six of them in 4th grade in Revere. She has been the teacher leader of STEAM Club since its inception in 2019. She is the recipient of the Excellence in Staff Development Award from Science From Scientists. She attended Brandeis University, where she received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Hispanic Studies with a triple minor in Environmental Science, African and African-American Studies, and Health: Science, Society, and Policy. She also received her Master’s in Teaching from Simmons University, and is currently in the process of attaining her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership from Salem State University.
Anne Shea, Northeastern University
Undergraduate Researcher + Service-Learning Teaching Assistant
Anne Shea is an undergraduate Chemical and Environmental Engineering Student at Northeastern University. She is a service-learning teaching assistant for the Cornerstone of Engineering course, which partners with community organizations to provide STEAM opportunities for elementary students. She is also a team leader and peer mentor within the university’s Alliance of Civically Engaged Students. She is currently working in a co-op position at Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc., which is dedicated to the development and manufacturing of fuel cells in the renewable energy sector.
